Alice H Lockett Griswold, 69, passed away early on August 15, at the Anaconda Community Hospital of natural causes.

She was born on February 21, 1925, in Richmond, VA., an only daughter of English - parents, Sidney Cable and Annie Spurr Lockett.

She was reared on the family farm up to the age of 6 when the family moved into Richmond where her father worked for the City Parks Department.

After finishing her schooling and graduating from Richmond Senior High School in 1943, she worked for a local chemical company as the pay roll clerk and received several merits for her outstanding work.

She married Jack Kenneth Griswold on February 10, 1951, in Richmond, VA.

They moved to Anaconda,to be near his family.
He worked for the Anaconda Company as a Smelter man until he enlisted in the Army.

Mrs. Griswold stayed in Anaconda until her husband returned following his discharge. He returned to the smelter and they reared six children.

Mrs. Griswold was an active member of the United Methodist Church, especially involved with the women's activities of the church.
She enjoyed sewing and camping and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved being with family and friends and enjoyed playing pinochle.

Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.

Surviving include her husband of 43 years, at the Anaconda home; three sons and daughter-in-law, John "Gris" and Mary McKernan, of Anaconda; Ken and Linda, of Fairfield, Ohio, Terry and Donna of Albany, Oregon;
Three daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Chris Farrand, of Anchorage, Alaska, Betty Griswold, of Pleaanston, CA, Karen and Mike Stroh, of Pleasanton, CA.,

8 grandchildren, Jack, Jonathan, Lucas Griswold, Brian and Sarah Farrand, Jamie and Sean Griswold and Teresa Stroh Bradley;

An Aunt Cass Matelich, of Polson, MT.,
Several nieces and nephews, including Stan and Sandi Beaudette, of Anaconda and former resident Jim Grankow of Fairbanks, AK., and great-nephews, Jason and Jesse Beaudette.

Also survived by her sister-in-law Janet Vaughan Lockett, of Richmond, VA.
Several nieces and cousins in Richmond,VA. and California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her only brother Sidney, who died in 1987, and an infant son, James Matthew, who died in 1965.

Funeral Services for Alice L. Griswold, 69, of Anaconda, will be conducted at the Anaconda United Methodist Church Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph H. Lawson and the Rev. Glenn Truscott officiating.

Friends may call to pay their respects at the Anaconda Chapel of the KT Riddle Funeral Home today (Wednesday) until 8:00 p.m. and at the church Thursday morning after 9:00 a.m.

Internment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Family and friends returned to the Church where a luncheon was served in the Memorial Room.

Casket bearers were; John Griswold, Ken Griswold, Stan Beaudette, Matt Schiming, Paul Schiming, and George Matteson; Honorary bearer- Jack Edward Griswold.

Services are under the care of KT Riddle Funeral Homes.
