He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Asher; daughters, Christina Buchanan and husband, Craig, Kimberly Asher and Heidi Giebel and husband, Stephen, all of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Ryan, Bret and Shane; brother, Don Asher of Valpraiso, IN and sister, Diana Sloane of Chicago, IL.
Robert was an officer with the U.S. Air Force, serving for 13 years.
He received his degrees, including his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University and was a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Texas Tech University.
He spent the majority of his professional career at Sandia National Laboratories.
Robert, a gifted bible scholar and teacher, taught at Albuquerque Bible College, as well as Trinity Seminary where he was also completing his second Ph.D.
He was a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. Robert was also a member of Desert Springs Church and had served in church leadership positions throughout his adult life.
Services held Friday, March 1, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE, with Pastor Bob Brown officiating.
Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
