Agnesina D'Alessio, born in Montesarchio (Mediaeveal town of merchants) provence of Benevento Italy, to Luigi and Lucia Stellato on March 21, 1929. She was the first daughter to be born next in line to two older brothers and was always regarded as the miracle baby, as she was expected to have been still born after her mother had become critically ill during her pregnancy when her mother's father died unexpectedly.
She was christened Agnes by her father in memory of his mother who had died when he was a teenager. He always referred to her as Agnesina meaning little Agnes as she was his little girl, being particularly precious as she carried his mother's name.
Being the first daughter and eldest of four other sibblings, she became a mother figure to the rest of her family. She developed a love for children and spent her spare time volunteering at the Sacred Heart of Christ orphanage. She became known as the equivalent of Mary Poppins. She became a member of the Sacred Heart charity and devoted countless hours as a volunteer. On completing intermediate high school, she became an apprentice dressmaker and later also worked in fashion design in various houses of Rome.
She married in 1960, then joined her husband in Australia in 1964 and where their two sons were born. Her love for children was her greatest passion which was not restricted just to her children, but saw each child's face as a flower. Her tireless dedication towards her family and those she came in contact with and cared for, meant that she had denied herself. This later took a heavy toll on her health. In 1984, she began to experience heart problems which had later made her prone to both open heart surgery and cardiothoracic surgery two years later. She again escaped death from the days of when she was meant to have been still born. Yet in spite of all this, her face was always greeting with a smile. Being on borrowed time, her health was never the same as she had also experienced post operative neurological damage. Sadly, in early 2006 her health took a sudden turn for the worse as she became increasingly weaker and sleepier, suffering two consecutive neurological bleeds. In all her years of suffering, she never complained and continued to always maintain a genuine corageous smile, even upto the very last moment she opened her eyes. Her husband and sons watched her sleep for several days just like she watched her children sleep over 35 years ago, but a shortage of Angels in Heaven was her final call to fulfil her duties in the heavens as she did in her life on earth. Her motto was " Always do good, not because you should expect good in return, but because it is the right duty to do"
"God went looking for his favourite pearls and diamonds. He then saw your radiant smile and found what He was looking for. An eternal light from a glowing Angel that will always be felt like the perpetual flowing rays of what was once a long distant star, long after it's source was extinguished. Rest in heavenly peace"
