Dandy was the sweetest male yellow lab possible. We got him from a breeder in NC. When he was a puppy we had newspapers all over the kitchen, and my daughter called him 'pookilease' (?). The kids loved him, and so did we all. He loved to swim in the lake and fetch sticks - he didn't want to release the stick, so I always had to have a second ready to throw. He used to bang his bowls with his paws when they were empty. He made the move with us to NY, and delighted the neighbors (an elderly couple - Marj Kotrady ) by wandering over and introducing himself - they fed him biscuits, and also greatly miss him. He also used to like to lick the almost empty jars of peanut butter. He developed cancer, and had difficulty walking. He died a natural death at the animal hospital when we were thinking having him put to sleep. We loved him a lot, he was always gentle, and slow to bark. He was our first dog, and now home doesn't seem like home without a dog.
