He served in Farrington's Regiment - 13th Reg't NY Militia under the comand of Capts. Moffit & Denio, Col. Farrington for 3 mos. (He substitued for Martin Montgomery.)
Isaac married Elizabeth (Betsey) Covey and raised a family of thirteen children. (Sylvester, Lovenia Mirandy, Thomas Kingsbury, Mary, David Bennett, Jasper J., William Benjamin, Isaac Jr., Diantha, Luther Samuel, Margery Mariah, Darius and Henry Miles Johnson.)
The family migrated to Ohio from New York about 1818 claiming his bounty land. Here he raised his family and worked as a shoemaker.
