She grew up on ranches in the Uintah Basin. Rosalie is the 9th of 10 children. Attended school in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School in 1960. Rosalie Gardner married DeLyle Rowley on June 3, 1960 in Vernal. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti, LDS Temple. Rosalie's married life started out in Vernal, they then moved to LaSalle and Moab , Anderson, California and resided in Montrose, Colorado at the time of her death.
Rosalie always provided home canned fruits and vegetables for the family and made many of their clothes when they were younger; she was a wonderful homemaker. She went on the trap-line whenever she could in their early married life and also liked to work along side of her husband on the farm, help with the cows and at hunting camp. She also helped DeLyle with leather projects such as chaps, headstalls, saddlebags and gun scabbards. Rosalie grew a productive garden, had a wonderful raspberry patch and watered and mowed the lawn.

She was patient and helped her husband, children, grandchildren and many others a lot over the years. She cooked for the hunters at hunting camp for the past 19 years making excellent home cooked meals, topped off with homemade pies that were cooked in the wood cookstove. Sourdough pancakes and sourdough bread were always a hit.
Rosalie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rosalie served in various church callings throughout the years including Primary President, Relief Society Presidencies, Young Women Ward Camp Director, Visiting Teacher, teacher and was currently serving as an instructor in the Relief Society. In addition to being the anchor of the family, Rosalie also worked in the public schools in California, worked for Rocky Mountain Medical (Pratt Medical) and was currently working for Menoken Water District. She believed that if anyone could do it she could and taught her family the same value. She taught herself how to operate the computer and was very competent at everything she did.
