Killed in Action at Iwo Jima. Entered the service from Georgia. Awarded the Purple Heart.

Oldest child of Lloyd W. Brown & Annie Mae (Freeman) Brown. Brother to Rayford F., Dorice F., Arzelia N., Edna M., Elton C. & Joan B.

Husband of Sarah John Floyd, whom he married on Oct.5, 1935. They had one child, a son, Gerald Floyd Brown. Gerald was just 6 when his father died.

God bless you Uncle Cloyd!!

--------------------

His Great Nephew, Daryl Brown, grandson of Cloyd's brother Rayford, followed in Cloyd's footsteps and served with the 5th Marine Division in Operation Iraq Freedom (Feb 2005 - Oct 2005) & (Nov 2007 - June 2008).

My thanks to Paul F. Wilson, who originally listed Uncle Cloyd (and all the other men buried at the Punchbowl), and then upon finding out I was related, transferred the memorial to me. Thank you greatly Paul!
