William Robert “Bob” Mitchell, 75, Of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away March 8, 2016 at The Villages of Southern Hills, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Moore’s Funeral home Tulsa is in charge of services. William was born February 23, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Hillcrest Hospital to parents Wilford Rhine Mitchell and Nanthlea Ernestine Schlosser. William was a graduate of Central High School class of 1961. Married December 4, 1971 in Oakhurst, Tulsa, Oklahoma to Barbara Sue Buffington. William was the proud father of Jenifer E. Mitchell-Harris, Jane E. Mitchell, and Wane Robert “Robbie” Mitchell. And the proud grandfather of Autumn E. Mitchell and Ellie R. Harris.

Dad was a welder for 32 years and his hobbies included Dallas Cowboys football, gardening, listening to country & western music, talking with old buddies and fishing which was his favorite past time. He famously caught the uncatchable catfish of Creek County, Ok. His efforts from this famous battle are detailed in his many accounts of the ferocious catfish that refused to be caught. Dad loved country music and although he couldn’t carry a tune he was never shy of singing or whistling his version of the song. He loved his old 1971 Dodge truck and regretted ever selling it for which he spent years after trying to relocate it. He was none too fond of bent forks or house flies. He enjoyed the simple things in life. Cared for in his last years by his eldest daughter Jenifer who by God’s grace was the angel placed in Dad’s life to be his care taker and advocate when dementia slowly took dad from us. Dad was loved by many, never met a stranger and was always the first to offer help. We take comfort in knowing that Dad is now home with his parents and siblings, no doubt talking about all the adventures they had growing up.

William was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dale Eugene Mitchell of Tulsa, Oklahoma. His sister Linda Kay Sebastian of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. His brother Paul Douglas Mitchell of Bentonville, Arkansas. His sister Marilyn Rae Limb of Plainfield, Illinois.

Survivors include:
Wife: Barbara S. Mitchell of Stillwater, Oklahoma, daughters Jenifer E. Harris and partner Sean Brown both of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Daughter Jane E. Mitchell of Mannford, Oklahoma, Son Wane Robert “Robbie” Mitchell, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Granddaughters Autumn Elizabeth Mitchell, Mannford, Oklahoma, Ellie Rose Harris, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Also surviving Sister Nancy E. Keogh and husband Tom of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Sister Judith Rainey and husband Bradley of South Carolina. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
