A resident of Aztec since 1959, Sue was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and was very passionate about the Girls' State program. She was also active in the Women's Society of Christian Service at the Aztec Methodist Church. In her later years, she helped at the Aztec Senior Citizen's Center.
She is survived by her two sons, Roy Arnold and wife Sharon of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Gene and his wife Stephanie of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Chris and wife Anita of Trier, Germany, Eric and wife Kelly of Vancouver, Wash., Kari Somerton and husband Matthew of Seattle, Wash., Leah of Edina, Minn., and Patric of Iron Mountain, Mich.; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Wilson Arnold; and her twin brother, Dean Myers.
Following visitation, a celebration of Sue's life will be held at 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Aztec, with the Rev. Bill Ivins officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2004, in the Lawn Haven Cemetery in Clovis, where she will be next to her husband Woodrow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Senior Citizen's Center of Aztec or to the National Alzheimer Foundation.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Good Samaritan Nursing Home where Sue was living in Aztec and received special care and treatment.
