Former longtime Livingston resident Nellie Oneita (Martin) Ayres, 95, died of natural causes on Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at her home in Great Falls.
A family graveside memorial service is planned, with burial in Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston. Schnider Funeral Home in Great Falls is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, Stella Wilburn; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Oneita was born on April 13, 1908, in Parsons, Kansas, to Claude and Stella Martin. She was raised and went to school in Butler, Mo., graduating in 1925.
She married Chester (Chet) Ayres on October 26, 1925, in Livingston. He was her loving companion for 58 years, until his death in 1983.
Oneita was active in Eastern Star and also a 50 year member of Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed many community and social activities over the years in Livingston.
