Ozro served with the U.S. Marines in the first decade of the 1900's.

He married Gretchen E. Adams of Wayland, NY in 1897. They had at least one child shortly after they married, a son named Azel and possible a second son named Otto. The 1900 federal census mentions an Otto Maltby connected to Ozro and Gretchen.

Ozro and Gretchen divorced. She remarried in 1909.

"Arthur [sic] Maltby of the town of Richmond and Miss Gretchen Adams of Wayland were married recently by the Rev. Mr. Day." (Livonia Gazette, 13 Aug 1897)

Ozro was still alive and living at Rochester, NY in 1928 according to the obituary of his mother.
