Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Alberto and Mariana (doCanto) Pires, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life before moving to Acushnet 12 years ago.
She attended St. Francis Xavier Church in Acushnet and Our Lady of the Assumption Church in New Bedford.
Mrs. DePina was formerly employed as a stitcher for Cliftex Corporation for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Irma Fonseca, and her husband Joao, of Acushnet; a son, Edward DePina, and his wife Elizabeth, of Sao Vincente, Cape Verde; four grandchildren, Elizete Perry, John Fonseca, Barbara Jean Correia, and Luis DePina; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was the grandmother of the late Gabriel Fonseca.
