HENRY M. WEST DEAD.
After a long illness , Mr. Henry M.
West, an old and well-known citizen
of Oberlin, passed away at his home,
No. 134 South Main Street, on Wed-
nesday morning, December 2, 1903, in
the 61st year of his age, having been
born in Pittsfield, O., August 13,
1842.
In 1864 Mr. West was married to
Miss Almira Whitney of Pittsfield,
and shortly afterward removed with
his wife to Oberlin, where he has
since continually resided. Mrs. West
preceded him to the grave by nearly
eight years.
For many years Mr. West conduct-
ed the Oberlin-Wellington hack line,
but in later years he was engaged
with his two sons, Charles and Ira
West, in the plumbing business. Be-
sides a brother--Mr. E. C. West, of
Pittsfield--he leaves six children,
three sons and three daughters—
Charles, Lewis, and Ira; and Mrs.
Hattie Dick, Anna and Augusta, who
all reside in Oberlin.
The funeral was held this after-
noon at the house, and burial was at
Westwood.
