Jim Taylor served on the USS Bollinger in WWII. His discharge papers show that he was Chief Signalman at discharge. His service awardslisted are: Anmerican-Area Service Ribbon; Asiatic-Pacific Area Service Ribbon; good Conduct Medal. The USS BOllinger had a role in support of troops who landed on Iwo Jima.
At some point, I am guessing 1949 or 1950, Uncle Jimmy, Aunt Lola and their two daughters (they eventually had 4 children) moved out of California. My recollection is that they moved first to Amarillo, Texas and not too long after that to Oklahoma, where they then resided until their deaths.
