-Richard Ernest Wilson, Sr., was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Corcoran, Calif., and passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2011, in Post Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marylou Wilson, and his father and mother, William P. and Gladys M. Wilson. Richard is survived by his three children, Richard Wilson Jr., Tom Wilson and Judy Chandler, and six grandchildren, Christina, Lisa, Brandie, Logan, Trevor, and Carrie, along with six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Zackary, Cole, Thea, Selena, and Isaac. He is also survived by his brother Bill Wilson and sister Barbara Sue Wilson, his niece Elizabeth Shull and nephew William Wilson. Richard graduated from Woodland High School, class of 1948. He was a resident of Woodland for most of his life, working in his father's pump business, William P. Wilson and Sons. He loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting and boating on the Sacramento River. Richard was also a long-time member and assistant fire chief of Spring Lake Volunteer Fire Department located next to the Woodland Fairgrounds. A former member of Yolo Lodge No. 81 that affiliated with Woodland Lodge No. 81. He moved to Hayden in December 2002 to live with his daughter Judy Chandler. He attended True North Church in Hayden. Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
-Services will be held at 6 p.m. today, Jan. 3, 2012, at ENGLISH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1133 N. 4th St., Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Richard's children would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and staff at Life Care Center and Garden Plaza (The Bridge), both in Post Falls, for all their help, compassion, and prayers.
