Marilyn Elizabeth Medford Clark, age 80, born in Haywood County, NC on Aug. 18, 1929 passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Clare Bridge of Asheville, NC. She resided in Fletcher, NC.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late James Augustus and Roberta Mehaffey Medford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Blaine Medford. Marilyn had previously lived in Canton, San Antonio, TX, and McClain, VA and was a member of Fletcher United Methodist Church and was a retired administrative assistant with the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington DC. She was a former x-ray technician at Lee County Hospital in Sanford and Rex Hospital in Raleigh and a former secretary at Hazelwood Elementary School. Marilyn enjoyed crafts, canning, and making jelly and was also an accomplished seamstress.
Marilyn is survived by She is survived by her husband of 58 years, one son, two daughters, and seven grandchildren,
Funeral services will be held at Fletcher United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Churchyard in Fletcher.
