Ms. Catherine Elizabeth Stanley Drawdy, 70, of Walterboro, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011.

Born February 4, 1941, in Jasper County, she was a daughter of Miles Bennie Stanley and Hazel Catherine Campbell Stanley.

Catherine was a former employee of Ridgeland Dress Factory.

Ms. Drawdy was a kind and generous woman who always gave to others without thinking of herself first. She enjoyed listening to the Swap Shop on Walterboro's WALLY (WALI-FM) radio station and loved shopping, especially at a yard sale or flea market, where she could always make a deal. Most of all, she loved her family and always centered her life around her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are: her children, Catherine Cook and husband Roy of Summerville, David Drawdy, III and wife Melissa of Walterboro, Samantha White and husband Adam of Jacksonville, Florida and Harvey "Rocky" Freeman of Jacksonboro; sister, Lillie Rose Bumgardner of Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Drawdy, Jr.; sister, Marian Drawdy; and brothers, Buddy Stanley and Homer Stanley.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 am, July 30, 2011 at Winn Cemetery, Grays.
