On July 14, 2013 our loved and admired Pa, Dad, Daddy and Gramps, Richard Caldwell, rode off to a greener pasture on his spade bit pony in heaven. He was born on July 3 to Roscoe Caldwell and Nancy Stanley in Soda Springs Idaho. He is survived by five brothers, Stephen Caldwell, Gregory Caldwell, Todd Caldwell, Dewyn Caldwell, JR Caldwell, one sister Becky Parker, his mother Nancy Stanley and his stepmother Dora Lee Caldwell. His three daughters that he loved more than horses, Amee Caldwell Albrecht, Charee Caldwell, Billee Jo Caldwell and the son he always considered his own Weston Albrecht. His grandchildren that were the highlight and love of his life that he was so proud of Kierra Riata, Chantz, Skyler, Sage, Kanyon, Kyzlee Jo and Graycee Ann. All seven of them thought the world of him and looked up to their "Gramps".
He was preceded in death by his father Roscoe Caldwell.
His girls have great love and respect for the lifelong friends that he considered family and they will always be family to them.
He was an amazing horseman and strived his entire life to learn, teach, and carry on the vaquero traditions beginning with George Hulme in Paris who he admired greatly and Ray Ordway who was his inspiration.
Dad had pride in everything he did from his horses to his tack to being "a man of his word". He will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on forever through his family and those whose lives he greatly impacted.
A tribute to his life will be held on Aug 2 in Alturas California.
