Gracie Ann Lewis was the dau. of Charles Alexander & Anna Elizabeth (Vannoy) Lewis. After Charles' death, Gracie was lovingly raised by her mother's close friend Catherine Meyer and her husband Jacob. Gracie came from Arkansas to Centralia, Kansas with the Meyers as an infant. Here she was educated and after graduation married her childhood sweetheart.

Gracie married Joseph Walter Lytle Dec. 31, 1891 in Centralia, KS.

Children born to this union were:
Merril Walter Lytle (1892-1957);
Louisa A. Lytle Howard (1894-1915);
Ralph Jacob Lytle (1896-1955);
Helen Kathleen Lytle Maddy (1897-1993);
Edwin George Lytle (1899-1956); and
Gilbert Walter Lytle (1901-1970).
