SALINE TWP., Mich. —
A Clinton man died Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash in Saline Township of Washtenaw County. The crash occurred about 11 p.m.
According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Department, Roger Coffey, 45, of Clinton was killed when his 2004 Jeep went off West Michigan Avenue (U.S. 12) near Case Road near downtown Saline. A DTE Energy crew discovered the crash while working to restring an electrical line at the site west of downtown Saline.

Coffey was heading northeast on U.S. 12 when the vehicle went off the road to the north and hit a pine tree. That caused the vehicle to go airborne and hit a second tree, which fell onto the overturned Jeep.

Coffey was found near the vehicle, having apparently been ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
