Veda Mae Holliday, age 81, died July 11, 1995. She was born July 17, 1913, in Holliday, Texas to Charlie E. and Viola Fae Ellis Marshall. She married Raymond Tobe Holliday, in Carrizozo, NM., on April 5, 1930. He died July 25, 1975. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Diamond Chapter 7, Cottonwood, Ariz. Veda loved gardening, especially flowers. She took great pride in making beautiful pieced quilts. She was a member of the National Hikers & Campers Association and was active with them as long as her health would allow. She lived in Flagstaff and Camp Verde, Arizona before moving to Hurricane 14 years ago. She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Charles R. Holliday, Eagar, Ariz.; Robert T. (John) Holliday, Eagar, Ariz.; Bill N. Holliday, Fredonia, Ariz.; Ida Richardson, Russellville, Ariz.; Annabelle Perkins, Riverton, Utah; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three brothers and two sisters: Clarence Marshall, Flagstaff, Ariz.; Miller Marshall, Spur, Texas; Gene Marshall, Ryan, Texas; Mary Ann Durham, Missouri; and Myrtle Bow, Cornelius, Oreg. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 14, 1995, 9 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS Stake Center, 677 S. 700 West. Friends may call Thursday evening 7-8 p.m. in the Hurricane Valley Metcalf Mortuary or at the Stake Center Friday morning one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Clear Creek Cemetery in Camp Verde, Ariz, where graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 15, at 10 a.m. under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
