Myrtle E. Young was born in 25 Apr 1891 to Charles and Mary Elizabeth Pew in PA. In 1900 she was living with her parents in Greenwich Twp, Gloucester Co. NJ and siblings; Dasie M. 22 Jan 1894 NJ, Townsend 20 Jul 1898 NJ, Duncan William Young born September 9, 1906, Gloucester, NJ, Died February 19, 1963, Hallandale, FL; her grandparents; Isaac H. Pew 6 Feb, 1847 NJ and Margaret Pew 7 Mar 1847 NJ, her aunt; Martha C. (Pew) McCarthy 6 Feb 1875 and her two female children; Leon L. 13 Apr 1895 NJ and Janis L. 5 Oct 1896 PA. By 1910 she has married Mr. Wolf. This marriage was brief and produced no children. Myrtle worked in vaudeville and during the 1912-15 period she worked under the name Alberta Moore & Myrtle Young. There are several newspaper reviews mentioning them. "Cottage Grove Empress. Sunday matinee Dec 15, 1912. Alberta Moore and Myrtle Young stagelands cleverest girls in clever songs and dance." Pittsburg Press, Feb 10, 1914. Alberta Moore & Myrtle Young proved excellent singers and dancers. Their grace and refined manner and their entertaining songs won them lots of applause." "The Gazette, Montreal. April 27, 1915. Misses Alberta Moore & Myrtle Young render topical ballads and dance with energy and agility." In 1920 she was living in Nassau, NY and was married to Albert B. White. Living with them were her parents Charles and Mary and their two children; Althea M. 1909 and Duncan B. 1907. Albert was also a longtime vaudeville performer and business man. By 1930 Albert and Myrtle had two children of their own; Mary Jane 13 May 1922 NY and Barbara J. 1928 NY. They were still living in Freeport, Nassau NY.
In 1939 her husband, Al, opened a restaurant-club which he nicknamed it The Town Lodge everyone else called it Al B. White‘s place. It was located at 10 Brooklyn Ave. It became the most popular place around visited by many famous movie stars.
Their daughter Mary Jane married Homer Albert Cable a correspondent for the Stars & Stripes Magazine and they traveled around the world. Their daughter Elizabeth was born in Germany. The Cables eventually settled in Elk Grove, CA. Myrtle died in New York in 1974
