PELION - A graveside service for Caroline Gross Varnador, 49 of Pelion, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2002 in Celestial Memorial Gardens, conducted by Father Robert J. Sayer. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia.
Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Hospice, 1400 Pickens St. Columbia, SC 29201.
Mrs. Varnador died Tuesday February 19, 2002. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., she was the daughter of late Thomas J. and Caroline Rethage Gross. Formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa. She had been a local resident since 1981, and was a volunteer at the Pelion Senior Citizens Center.
Surviving are her husband Dale Varnador, of Pelion; daughter, Caroline Lucy Newman of Columbia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas J. and Lorraine Gross of Pittsburgh, Glenn R. and Carol Gross of Pittsburgh; mother-in-law, Evelyn B. Hughes of Pelion; brother-in-law, Jessie Varnador of Pelion; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Varnador was predeceased by her sister, Delores Gross.
