Paul E. Arnold was born in Pendleton Oregon to Miles and Grace Arnold. He was the youngest of 3 brothers and 1 sister who have preceded him in death. He moved to Yakima where he graduated with the Class of 1943. Following graduation, Mr. Arnold enlisted in the U.S Marine Corps during WW11 where he earned a Purple Heart for wounds he suffered on Titian Island in the Marinas. Mr. Arnold taught school in the Ridgefield School District fo ten year until illness forced him to retire.Paul Eugene Arnold

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10, 1997, in Penisula Baptist Church for Paul Eugene Arnold, who died April 26 at age 71.

Mr. Arnold was born Jan. 6, 1926, in Pendleton. He attended Pendleton High School and graduated from Yakima High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He taught grade school in the Ridgefield, Wash., School District for 10 years. He directed the Junior Rose Festival Court coronation for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Susan Putnam and Terry Fischer, both of Wapato, Wash., and Merry Donahue of Lodi, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Disposition is by cremation. Arrangements are by Zeller Chapel of the Roses
