The daughter of Fern Crain (1890 -1963) and Lina Dot Druien Crain (1894 - 1986)

Ruby Ada Benson passed away Saturday, March 13, 1999 at the age of 84 years, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home. Ruby was born Aug. 10, 1914 in Eltopia Washington to Fern and Lina Crain. She attended schools in Eltopia, Mesa and Connell, graduating from Connell High School in 1931. After graduation she went into nursing training at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane and then attended Eastern State College. She married Harry Benson May 25, 1935 in Goldendale. They made their home in Riverview for 10 years where Harry was superintendent of schools. In 1945 they moved to Sunnyside and owned and operated the Lincoln Service Grocery Store and Harry's Drive-in. After selling the business, Harry became principal of Sunnyside High School and Ruby purchased Evelyn's Dress Shop on 6th Street. Harry passed away in 1985 shortly after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
