Levi Shiver
Mr. Levi Shiver, aged 40, died at his home near Red Rock Monday. Mr. Shiver was a World War veteran and saw service in the American forces in France in 1918 and 1919.
Surviving besides his widow, are four children, Evelyn, June, Neda (sic-Juanita) and Franklin Roosevelt Shiver. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Shiver and several brothers and sisters.
Interment took place at Bethel cemetery, Tuesday, the funeral service being conducted by Rev.P.U. Waters and Rev. W. J. Adair.
The Spurlin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. The pallbearers were Messrs Alfred, Luther, Perry and Clyde Shiver, Floyd Jones and Lee Morrison.

NOTE:
He was in camp in America two months, then went to England, crossed the English Channel to France in 1918, and was on the battle line until the Armistice was signed. When the war was over, he served in the Army of Occupation in Germany for nine months under Lieutenant Head and Captain Ricks. He returned to America in 1919.
He married twice, first to Florine Davis, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Warren Davis, of Isabella. She died young, leaving one little daughter, Evelyn.
He married the second time to Rennie Jones, by whom he had three children, Lee, Juanita, and Franklin D.
He was the grandson of two Confederate Soldiers, J. Hugh Shiver and Green Shiver. His parents were Hyson and Mittie Shiver of Worth County.
