Born June 12, 1924, originally from Pirtleville, and a lifelong resident of Douglas, Arizona was welcomed to heaven on January 12, 2004. Proceeded in death by her husband, Henry (Garza) Yanez; her sister, Refugia "Cuca" (Joe deceased) Torres, and her brother, Narciso "Chicho" Robles.
Survived by her sister, Esther (Chio deceased)Cocio, from Tucson; daughters, Lucy (Salvador)Aguilar and Camila "Cammy" Yanez; sons, Guadalupe "Rocky" (Laura) Yanez and Enrique "Rocco" (Martha) Yanez; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
Tillie was very active within the Douglas Community. Throughout her lifetime she participated in the YWCA for over 20 years. She was a member of the Douglas Planning and Zoning Committee for 15 years. She also was a member of the Guadalupanas from the Sacred Heart Chapel for more than 40 years. Tillie also performed services as the administrator at the Sacred Heart Chapel for many years. Tillie died as she lived always providing a warm smiling face and a caring hand. Always putting family, friends and people first. She touched the lives of many and will always be remembered in our hearts and mind.
A Rosary will be recited at the Sacred Heart Chapel, 17th Street and I Avenue, Douglas, Arizona on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow on Friday, January 16, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Chapel with Father Gilbert Malu officiating. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, 1501 5th Street, Douglas, Arizona. After burial there will be a gathering at St. Luke's Hall, 1211 E. 15th Street, Douglas, Arizona.
Pallbearers who will serve are :Guadalupe "Rocky" Yanez, Enrique "Rocco" Yanez, Salvador Aguilar, Antonio Plancencia, Ruben "Guero" Yanez, and Marko Yanez. Honorary Pallbearers: Salvador "Sal" Aguilar, Saul Aguilar, Enrique "Rick" Yanez, and Christopher Perez.
