Anna Myers Beeler Biography

Anna Myers was born on April 19, 1794 in Adams County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Joseph Myers and Ruth Shouff Myers.

Samuel Beeler was born on May 7, 1793 in Sharpsburg, Washington County, Maryland.

Samuel's family left Maryland around 1800, and settled in Hamilton County, Ohio when Samuel was a young boy. Hamilton County land records document that his father Henry Beeler [name listed as "Henry Belar" on the property deed] purchased a 302-acre farm in Sycamore Township on August 5, 1805.

Around 1802 Joseph Myers, his wife Ruth, and their children traveled down the Ohio River in a flat boat. They landed at Cincinnati, Ohio. Anna was eight years old when her family arrived in Ohio.

According to family records, the Myers family farm was close to the Beeler family farm. Samuel's occupation was listed as "Agriculture" in the 1820 Federal Census and as "farmer" in the 1850 Federal Census for the Sycamore Township, Hamilton County, Ohio.

Anna Myers and Samuel Beeler were married on October 26, 1815 in Sharonville.
