Funeral services for Mrs. Russell Buckwalter were held at the Hitchcock Chapel Tuesday with burial in the Laurens Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Carpe officiated at the services, with Glenn Kees, Lyle Lund, James Cooper, George Hoffman, Marvin Ferguson and Dale Peterson serving as casket bearers.

Mrs. Buckwalter died Sunday morning at Pocahontas Community Hospital.

Gladys Irene Buckwalter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Wable was born at Somerset, Pa., February 28, 1901. She married Russell McKinley Buckwalter at Portage, Pa. in 1921 and the couple lived at Portage, Latrobe, Pa., Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Miami, Fl. before coming to Laurens ten years ago.

Mrs. Buckwalter was a member of the First Christian Church and an honorary life member of the Latrobe American Legion Auxiliary. She was a descendant of Phillip Livingston, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Her ancestor David Livingston of Hollsopple served in the Revolutionary War.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Leland John Hawley; 4 grandchildren; and half brothers, Earl and Lester, both of Somerset, Pa.
