Mrs. Homer J. Tardiff, 85, a Crookston resident for many years, died Tuesday morning at St. Vincent's Rest Home, where she had been a resident since January 1. Survivors include three sons, Walter J. Tardiff of Montreal, Que.; Dewey of Tacoma, Wash.; and Theodore of Whitehall, Wis; one daughter, Mrs. Hilary (Mabel) Froome of Windsor, Ont; and 12 granchildren. Also, surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Harry LaRoche of Red Lake Falls; Mrs. Emma Hince of Tacoma, Wash.; and Mrs. Antoinette Hill of Portland, Ore.; and two brothers, Arthur Prenevost of Red Lake Falls and George Prenevost of Pelican Rapids. Her husband and daughter Rose preceded her in death. Josephine Prenevost was born Aug. 22 1875 in Montreal, Que. She was married to Homer J. Tardiff in Red Lake County. All the children were born and raised in Crookston, and the family resided here until they moved to Baudette in 1922. Following the death of her husband in 1944, Mrs. Tardiff moved back to Crookston, where she lived in an apartment until the first of this year. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic church, and funeral services will be held her at 9 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Stanley Bourassa will officiate. The Normal Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The body may be viewed at the Home today from 4-9 p.m. The rosary will be recitated at 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
