Harriet Ellis was born near St. Marys, Feb. 20, 1849, and lived nearly all of her life near Plymouth. She passed away in the early hours of Feb 7, 1921 in St. Cloud, Florida, aged 71 years, 11 months, and 18 days. She was the fifth of eight children born to Margaret and William Ellis, all of whom have preceded her in death.
During the winter months for several years, she has spent her time in the "Sunny South". She always loved the South, so beautiful with flowers, palms, and birds singing. She looked forward to her annual journey. Her friends there were by her side as her days ended.
On March 25, 1867, she was united in marriage to David Burdett and to this union, four children came to bless their home. The first born, Harry, having died when six years of age. Her beloved husband passed away in 1914, while he was enroute home from Florida.
Those surviving are: Charles Otto, of Rea Valley, Ark., Ethel Overand of Los Angeles, Calif., and Roscoe C. of Plymouth; also one son-in-law, Harry Overand, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. R.C. Burdett, and grandson Small.
