Beloved father, son, and husband. Born in Davis City Iowa to Charles and Opal Hewson McLain.
Mac was an avid outdoorsman and well-known and popular Albany businessman. A U.S. Navy veteran, his cremated remains were buried in the Snake River Canyon.
Harold Emory McLain was born April 21, 1927, in Davis City, Iowa, son of Charles and Opal McLain, died April 26, 1989, at his home in North Albany, Or., age 62.
He grew up in Davis City and attended schools there, joining the Sea Bees. He moved to Albany in 1944, working for the Simpson Timber Company until 1954, when he opened Mac's TV shop in his home. He moved the business to Pacific Boulevard and operated there 20 years. In 1973 he entered the real estate business, specializing in commercial investment real estate.
He married Lillian Mollett in 1948 and they later divorced. He married Robyn Alexander on December 20, 1975, in Crabtree, Or. They lived in rural North Albany and raised livestock.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 10 and Albany Elks Lodge. He was a past president of the Albany Timber Carnival and the Albany Jaycees and had served on the cities planning commission and county sheriffs posse. He was a member of the Albany Realtors Association, Oregon Association of Realtors, and was a past secretary of the Commercial Investment Division of the Board of Realtors.
Surviving are his widow Robyn, his father Charles L. McLain of Davis City, Ia; sons Michael, Albany; Mark, Lebanon,; Ronald, West Linn; daughters: Lynda Thomas, Tigard; and Karen Fletcher, Eugene; brothers: Ralph, Albany, and Donald, Davis City, Ia; sisters: Dorothy Boswell, Mesa, AZ, and Beverly Scroggins, Nebraska City, NE; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Opal, December 21, 1988.
