SUGAR GROVE, Va. - Jesse Leon Parks Jr, age 64, passed away Thursday April 14, 2011, at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.
Mr. Parks was born in Grayson County, Va. and was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Leon Parks Sr. and a sister Linda Lou Parks Long. Mr. Parks was a loving dad, a wonderful popaw and a proud great popaw.
Survivors include sons, Jeffery Leon Parks, Marion, Va., Allen Parks and wife, Cindy, Sugar Grove, Va., Mickey Parks and wife, Lorna, Marion and Eddie Parks, Rural Retreat, Va.; mother, Faye Cornett Parks Pafford, Sugar Grove; brother, Leslie Hayden Parks, Sugar Grove; loving companion, Rhonda "Suzy" Hash, Independence; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday April 15, 2011, at the Summit Baptist Church with the Rev. Jody Blevins and the Rev. Jim Lundy officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bald Rock Cemetery in Grayson County. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Summit Baptist Church.
