Services Held For Joel Bowman
Funeral services for Joel Bowman, well known Moro resident were held Tuesday afternoon, July 20 at 2 from the Full Gospel Church of God at Moro. The Rev. Arnold Gwathney officiated, assisted by the Rev. Millard Simpson.
Mr. Bowman, who was 59, died suddenly Sunday morning, July 18 at Heber Springs. He was born in Lee County and had lived here all his life. He was employed at Douglas and Lomason in Marianna and was a member of the Full Gospel Church of God at Moro.
Survivors are his wife, Voncille Bowman of Moro, one son Floyd Bowman of Moro; two daughters, Miss Robin Bowman of Moro and Mrs. Bobbie Jo Gwathney of Forrest City: two brothers Grover (Eva) Bowman of Moro and Bishop (Jennie) Bowman of Quitman, Arkansas; six sisters, Mrs. Floy Mae Whitted of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Beth (Lloyd) Good of Mt. Vernon, Washington, Mrs. Lois (Riley) Stevens and Mrs. Ruth (Thaddeus) Blount both of Little Rock, Mrs. Mary Jane (Bryant) Butterworth of Searcy, and Ester (Jessie) Butterworth of Moro; three grandsons, Randy Gwathney of Forrest City, and Melvin and Joey Bowman of Moro.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, his sister Blanche and brothers Herman and David.
Pallbearers were Leonard Walker, Lewis Cross, Norris Guynes, Eugene Richardson, Henry Compton, and Lonnie Parson.
Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Citizens Funeral Home of Marianna
