Kris Renae Massingill, 44, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away following a long illness on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Stormont-Vail Health Care in Topeka, Kansas.
Kris was born on November 15, 1965 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of John A. and Loxie Jean (Castle) Harding. She graduated from Wichita South East High School in 1984 and attended Kansas University for one year. She and her husband Robert Wayne Massingill were married August 11, 1990 in Wichita, Kansas. They lived in Heidelberg, Germany prior to moving to Wamego in June of 2004.
She was a homemaker and loving mother and wife to her family. Kris enjoyed gardening, watching movies, reading, collecting antiques, and decorating their home.
Kris is survived by her husband Robert Massingill, of their home in Wamego; her three sons, Britt, Clay, and Devin Massingill, all of the home; her father, John Harding, Sr. of Medicine Lodge, Kansas; and one brother, John Harding, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loxie in 1994.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial celebration of life service for Kris will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. A visitation with family greeting friends will continue after the memorial service until 5:00 p.m. A private inurnment will be held later in the Andover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
