Sally Kinnard Warren, passed away June 8th after, as she insisted, "a futile battle with ALS". She leaves behind countless friends, an adoring family, and wonderful memories spanning six and a half decades.

Sally presented us with the brightest star in the heavens. She will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and especially her sense of humor.

Born on November 28, 1940, Sally was the daughter of John G. Kinnard and Betty Kinnard. She spent her youth in Minneapolis, graduating from Northrup High School in 1958. While raising her family, she moved to the suburbs, settling in Orono.

In later years she purchased a cabin from a wonderful couple. The time she spent there is when Sally found Sally. She felt that a person couldn't be completely happy with others until they were happy with themselves alone. Soon after, she met and married Jerry Warren and his family and relocated to Des Moines.

Her passion for causes led her to be involved in many organizations. She was a strong supporter in the Republican Party until recent years, a devoted friend of Bill W. for 31 years, member of the humane society to further her love of animals, and cherished her role as a grandmother to all the youngsters in her family.

Sally felt friendship was one of the most generous gifts of life and wanted to be sure that all her friends understood how much they meant to her.
