Joe loved his go-karts. It was his last race, and he had a heart-attack doing just that... crossing the finish line in first place.

Father of Joseph Phillip Scovill, and Sharon Kay Scovill.

Co-owned Kansas City Kart Supply since 1987. He was president and co-owner of Taylor Cable Products Inc from 1954 to 1979. He was a member of the Kansas Carting Association and the California Hot Rod Association and a former member of the Central Auto Racing Boosters.

He was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII.

Lieut. Joseph P. Scovill, who recently was graduated from flight training at Williams Field, Ariz., is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Scovill, 800 East Eleventh. His new station is Victorville, Calif. A brother, Sergt. Donald W. Scovill, is with a garrison force on Saipan.
