Abraham Ellis Junior is the only child of Abraham (Alles) Ellis Senior (b. 1750, d. 1837) and Anna Maria Ried (b. 1757, d. abt 1778). Abraham Ellis Jr.'s Mother, Anna Maria died in child birth. He was raised by Katherine Joel in Berkeley County, Virginia (now West Virginia) until his father returned from his service in the Virginia Militia in the Revolutionary War and she then became his

step-mother.

Abraham Ellis Junior was married to an Elizabeth Riner (b. abt 1782, d. abt 1823) on January 24, 1801 in Berkeley County, Virginia (now West Virginia). Together they had John Ellis (b. abt 1802, d. 1837), Henry Ellis (b. abt 1803, d. aft 1837), Peter Ellis (b. 1804, d. 1884), Catherine Ellis (b. abt 1806, d. aft 1837), Elizabeth Ellis (b. abt 1810, d. aft 1837), Mary Ellis (b. abt 1812, d. aft 1837), Anna Ellis (b. abt 1814, d, aft 1837), Margaret Ellis (b. abt 1816, d. aft 1837) and Sarah ("Sally") (Whitecotton) Ellis (b. 1818, d. 1908). At some point before 1820, he and his family traveled from Berkeley County Virginia to Liberty, Clinton County, Ohio where his father Abraham Ellis Senior lived. He then moved on to Perry Manor, Marion County, Indiana. He was listed in the 1820 Census for Liberty Township, Clinton County, Ohio and the 1830, 1840 Census in Perry Township, Marion County, Indiana. His occupation was a farmer. He was always with his son Peter Ellis.

After the death of his first wife Elizabeth Riner, he was re-married to Susannah Alexander on June 16 1827 in Perry Township, Marion County, Indiana. It is estimated that he died some time after 1840 since he was mentioned in the Census of 1840.
