Elder of two daughters of John L. "Jack" and Ruth Mable Bracken Elliott, who moved their family to Illinois for work when the depression destroyed Jack's insurance business in Kentucky. Libby graduated from Woodruff, H. S. Peoria, IL.

She married Floyd LeRoyal Haddock in Davenport, IA 8 Oct 1940. They had three sons: Gary, Richard and Thomas. Floyd was killed 1945 in France during WW II.

Four days after Libby's run-away marriage, her widowed mother, Ruth, married Harold Hambright in Kahoka, Missouri.

Libby, who had moved herself and her three sons to live with her in-laws after Floyd's death, married John Francis Smith 28 Dec 1948 in Decatur, IL. He died 1984.

They had a daughter and a son. Libby had been an Avon representative for over 30 years.
