BURNHAM - Mae E. Nichols, 88, a resident of Christ the King Manor, Dubois and formerly of 107 N. Walnut St., Burnham, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the manor.Born Dec. 2, 1921, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late George and Ada (Linard) Peters. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Nichols.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. Nichols Jr. of Reynoldsville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by her brothers and sisters, George Peters and his wife Elaine, Campbelltown; Robert Peters and his wife Grace, Huntingdon; Charles Peters and his wife Terri, Lakewood, Ohio; Anna Margaret Barnett and her husband Ray, Fort Myers, Fla.; Sara Grace Spigelmyer and her husband Lee, McClure; Frances Stoianoff, Medina, Ohio; Linda Ciccolini and her husband Robert, Lewistown and a sister-in-law, Marian Peters of State College.
She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and an infant daughter.Mae was employed as a sales clerk at the Giant Food Store, Murphy's and Rubin's in Lewistown.
She was a member of the Shaw Avenue Brethren Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St. with the Rev. Douglas D. Sherlock Jr. officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
