Robert E. Moffett, head of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, died Monday at a Garden Grove hospital.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 pm at Melrose Abbey Chapel.
Mr. Moffett had been hospitalized for a week following a heart attack. He directed barber shop singing groups in Fullerton and Long Beach and had appeared in Whittier a number of times. He was a member of The Gaylords quartet.
He leaves his wife, Gladyce, and their children, Sharyn, James Gregory and Melany "Candie".
