Elmer Hopper, 79, of 320 Fifth St., died at 11:40 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born July 29, 1892, at Palmyra in Jefferson County, a son of Henry and Louisa Geltnick Hopper. He married Florence Bernette in Scotland on April 9, 1928.
Mr. Hopper was a factory maintenance worker and a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Bavle of Downey, Calif.; and three grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1960.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Mirsberger will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Elmer Hopper, who died Saturday, were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
The Rev. Richard Mirsberger officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers from the Holy Name Society were Alfred Stollenwerk, Leo Nast, Ray Abler, David Cravillion, Anton Rafenstein and Norbert Fleischmann.
Active pallbearers were jack Hopper, Jeffrey Hopper, Richard Schuppe, Irving Geldnich, Clarence Moersch and Harvey Hinkley.
The American Legion Firing Squad conducted graveside services. Color bearers were Arthur Mossong and Clarence Fenner; color guard, Tage Swanson and Elmer Root; bugler Robert Samuel; firing squad, Victor Pfalzgraf, Kenneth Bortner, John Pitas, Andrew Johnson, Robert Culver and John Wacynski; and commander, Henry Rucks.
