Sloan was born July 23, 1926, in Centralia. He worked for 42 years as a district sales manager for Bar-S Meat products.
A World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was wounded while serving in the South Pacific.
He was an honorary life member and past exalted ruler of Vancouver Elks Lodge 823. Prior to moving to Vancouver, he was an officer for Centralia Elks Lodge. His enjoyments were fishing and golfing.
Survivors include his wife, June M., at home in Vancouver; his son, Robert K. of Vancouver; his daughter, Carol Griggs of Cloverdale, Ore.; a grandson; a granddaughter; and a nephew.
Remembrances may be donations to Elks National or State Foundation. A memorial service for A. Paul Sloan will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Vancouver Elks Lodge.
