Paul Myron Farmer was born in Cambridge City, Indiana to Raymond and Edna Farmer.

Paul was a World War II Veteran. He enlisted in the military February 15, 1943 and received his discharge papers from Camp Atterbury after 30 months of service in early 1946.

Paul was a Corporal in the U. S. Army when he was discharged and he served in the European Theatre.

Paul and his brother, Cleo, lived on Third Street in Cambridge City when they entered the military during WW II and are two of the Fightin' Third Street boys.

Paul M. Farmer, 75 of 147 S. County Road 400 W., died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998 in the emergency room of Fayette Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for three years but his death was unexpected.
He was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Cambridge City, the son of Raymond H. and Edna I. Walsh Farmer.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II where he attained the rank of Corporal. He served in the European Theater and fought in numerous battles, including the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy Invasion.
He received the purple heart, three bronze stars, EAME Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and a World War II Victory Medal.
He attended St. Gabriel Catholic church and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was employed for several years at Campbell Hausfeld at Harrison, Ohio, and had farmed for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred (Mickey) Slagle Farmer, to whom he was married Oct. 10, 1959; three daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Michael Allen of Brazil, Ind., Thomas and Carlos Neuman of Connersville, and David and Alesia Nueman of Greensburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry S. and Vickie Farmer, Daniel and Teresa Farmer, and Michael and Wanda Farmer, all of Connersville; three brothers, Norbert Farmer of Harrison, Ohio, Joseph Farmer and Cleo Farmer of New Castle; a sister Thais Harry of Cincinnati; and 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was in preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Roseanna Fouts.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery, where the Fayette County Veterans Council will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home where a scripture service will begin at 8 p.m.
