Amos Bailey was born in Virginia 1817. Jerusha Moore Bailey was born in York, Pennsylvania 1828. They met among the early settlers in Ohio. Married and lived 30 years at Pomeroy and Middleport, Ohio. From there they went to Athens County and lived at Happy Hollow, Greendale, Nelsonville, Connett, Orbiston and Murray City. Each had been married before and had children each by their previous marriages. Jerusha Moore Bailey died on Mason City Hill, Nelsonville of Spanish Grippe, March 1890, and is buried at Fort Street Cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio. Amos Bailey died at Murray City on March 31 1909, and is buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. He and his wife, Jerusha Moore Bailey, had four children together, Elizabeth, John, Margaret and Nora Luthella. Clista Moore - Jerusha Moore Bailey's daughter, Clista, became the wife of Longsbreth, and they had two children – Ella and John who lived at Wilkesville, Ohio. Clista divorced her husband and he went to California. She lived some of her life in Nelsonville and Columbus. Clista lived to be of old age, where she died and was buried in Columbus, Ohio. She was always very dependable and independent. Ella Longsbreth married John Brown and lived in Columbus, Ohio. She had two children Tacy and Max. Tacy married Frederick Wilhelm and had two children Fred and Betty. Tacy lived mostly and died in Franklin County, Ohio. Not much is known about Max other than he died in Cleveland, Ohio. John Longsbreth was a flour miller at Wilkesville and had two children Melanie and a son. They lived in the vicinity of Wilkesville. Miles Moore - Clista had one brother, Miles Moore, who married Mary L. and had 5 children, Joseph, Celista, James Thomas, Florence and Edgar. Martha Bailey - Amos Bailey's daughter Martha became the wife of Adna Bable and had three children Clara, Adna Jr. and Mattie. Adrieanna Bailey - There is no record of his daughter Adrieanna after the 1860 census. Elizabeth Bailey - Elizabeth married Robert Sayers, Nelsonville. They had four children, Anna, John, William and Binnie Agusta. Anna married Ben Bruce, Nelsonville in 1889. They had ten children. She was always a good mother, and died in Buchtel, Ohio in 1924. Their children are Bertha, Esther, William, Bernard, John, Ruby, Arthur, Henry, Mary and Marion (twins). John died in infancy, Ben, the father died in 1954. John Sayers married Elizabeth Standall. They had 2 children – Ray and Roy. Roy married Harriet Barbar they had 2 daughters. He died about 1953 and was a retired postman. Ray was a cook in the US Armed Forces. John and Elizabeth both died in the State Hospital, in Athens, Ohio. William Sayers married Mary Penrod at Buchtel, they had one girl, Violet, who lived in Columbus, Ohio. Mary Penrod Sayers died of pneumonia when Violet was a baby. William was killed in a coal mine accident at Bell Center, Coshocton County, Ohio. Binnie A. Sayers married Richard Gray of Columbus; they lived there until her death in 1957. They did not have any children. John Bailey - John Bailey, son of Amos and Jerusha died in infancy. Margaret Bailey - Margaret Bailey married John Wiseman and had 6 children, Mary Ellen, Charles, Sarah, Laura Ann, Martha Agnes and Philip Jackson. They lived in Mercer and Monroe Counties, West Virginia. Mary Ellen married Charles Miller with no children. Charles married Henrietta Davidson and had 5 children, J.C., Daisy, Mary, Ruth and Irene. No record of Sarah after 1880. Laura Ann married Mack T. Spangler and had 11 children, Harold, Edna Blanche, Howard, Conrad, Katherine, Cecil Philip, Marshall, Ina, Lester, Mary and a baby. Martha Agnes married Bill Houchins. Philip Jackson married Esper French and had 3 children, Hazel, Douglas and Margaret. Nora Luthella Bailey - Nora married Ephriam Wilson and they had four children, Edna, Herbert, Beulah Ethel, and David Frederick. Ephriam Wilson and Nora were married 30 November 1882 in Nelsonville. Ephriam was born February 19, 1863, and Nora was born March 13, 1865, she would have been 90 years old in one month, when she passed away in the house where she had attended school as a child. She died on February 16, 1954. Ephriam was killed while building a bridge for the Raybould Coal Company on Saturday, July 28, 1894. Nora, his widow married Lawrence Griffin, November 1, 1897 at Athens, Ohio. Their children were Gladys Alice and Leatha Leona. Nora passed away at Leatha's home in Nelsonville, and was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. Edna married Elmer Wharton and had 6 children – Pearl, Ruth, Victor Lloyd, Ralph, Erma, Louise. Herbert married Rebecca Willis and had 8 children – Fred, Norma, Theadore, Paul, Nadine, Ralph, Mary Lou and Nancy. Beulah married Hamilton Kilpatrick and had Eva. Fred married Lelia Kerr and had 2 children – Bernard and Glenn. Gladys married Baldwin Buston, then divorced and married Henry T. Osborn of North Carolina. Leatha married John Hiram Morrison and had 4 sons, John, Don, Robert and Bucky. John Morrison the father was killed in a mine accident. Leatha later married Walter Bolen of Buchtel and had 2 children Corrine and Lowell. Walter died, and Leatha then married Albert Smith of Chauncey, Ohio. They lived at Happy Hollow, Nelsonville, Ohio.
