Dorothy Faye Craig departed this life on September 6, 2013 and passed into the arms of her loving husband, Joseph Donley (Don), who preceded her in death in May of 2002. Dorothy was born August 28, 1920 in Lawton, OK. As a young woman, Dorothy was active in the Presbyterian Church, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Business Sorority, the USO and the V-Club. During World War II her church group entertained the local cadets. She loved to dance, and she met and married the love of her life, Don Craig, at one of the church dances. Dorothy converted to Catholicism, and she and Don were both very active members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. Dorothy was a homemaker while raising five children and caring for countless others. She later became the Office Manager for a local doctor's office. After her retirement in 1985, she and Don moved to Lake Hiwassee near Arcadia, OK. She then became an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, OK. She was a Eucharist Minister for years and loved participating as a volunteer in St John's weekly Time Out Program for the elderly. She relocated to St. Ann's Retirement Center in 2012, where she made countless new friends with whom she enjoyed playing dominos, cards and bingo. She was also elected to serve on the St. Ann Resident Counsel. Dorothy was always willing to give of herself, and she never met a stranger. She was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, and she will be missed by many.Dorothy is survived by her children: Robert Craig and friend Sandra Price, Sandra Fundom and husband Doug, Mary Ann Schmitt and husband Stephen, Michael (Mickey) Craig and Ramona Thompson, and David Craig and wife Staci; her grandchildren Daniel Craig and wife Sally, Stephen Craig and wife Emily, Tiffani Sims and husband Bart, Misty Kelley-McCall, Aaron Craig and wife Kari, and Rebecca Nicole (Nikki) Craig; her great grandchildren Britani, Chelsee and Errick McCall, Elijah, Hayden, Kira and Landon Craig, Renee and Colton Sims, Charles (Charlie) Craig, and Huxley Craig; and her great-great grandchildren Emery and Kyleigh Vinson.The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care provided for Dorothy by their nurses and aids during the final weeks of her life. A Catholic Mass in her honor, officiated by Reverend John R. Metzinger, will be celebrated at 11:00AM on September 21, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at Ninth & Boulevard in Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School, 925 S. Boulevard, Edmond, Oklahoma 73034.
