Mary and Abner married in 1836 in Morgan, IL, lived in Iowa and Nebraska before settling on the Ray Farm in Auburn, which is now owned by the 4th generation. On their trip by covered wagon she road in the back on a rocker (which is still in the family)and if the boys had upset her she would use her hook end to grab and reel them in. She had been previously injured but we don,t know how or where. She must have been a very strong lady to survive all those children and moving so many times. We have to admire our forefathers and mothers.
