Birth: Oct. 9, 1852
Vermont, USA
Death: Nov. 11, 1926
Wilmington
Los Angeles County
California, USA

Newton Chaffee was married Novemember 22, 1876 in Dunnsville, Wisconsin to Olive Arvilla Smith. They had three daughters: Bertha May 1877. and twins Ethel and Edith 1879. Newton and Olive divorced and Newton married Jennie B Montgomery in about 1885 maybe. They ended up in California. His last address was 1834 E Mauratania in Wilmington. He may've been a glass etcher, also a farmer. With Jennie, I believe, they had two sons: Byron 1887 and Lester 1900. Both sons were born in South Dakota. I also believe Newton had a brother, Russell who died in Clark County, Wisconsin. On his death notice, his parents are listed as William Chaffee and Cornelia Metcalf.
Newton was buried in the Sunnyside Mausoleum by Woods Mortuary of Wilmington.
