Had one daughter: Elizabeth Dowling (1918-1956.

Second marriage: Eunice R. Sohn (1899-1994)
Married about 1925. According to 1930 Census, he was 27 years old.
Had two sons - Korean War POWs:
- Paul Eugene Dowling Jr (1928-1950)
- Donald Francis Dowling (1931-1950)
Both boys were captured 2 Dec 1950 and died from dysentry on same day 17 Dec 1950. Remains not yet identified.
