Anna Ada (Humphreys) Crofcheck, a Prineville resident passed away on Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. She was 94 years old.
A Mass will be celebrated at a later date. Private graveside services will be at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
Anna was born in Uniontown, Penn., on Oct. 1, 1915, to Harry and Grace (Blosser) Humphreys.
She was raised and educated in Uniontown, Penn.
She married Lawrence Crofcheck in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Sept. 28, 1940, where he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. After World War II started, she moved to Akron, Ohio. She worked for a subsidiary of General Motors, making motors for Frigidaire appliances for 23 years. After retirement, they moved to Ft. Myers, Fla. Three years later, Lawrence died. She moved to Prineville, in 1988, to be with her family.
She was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Prineville.
Anna loved the outdoors; fishing, gardening, and especially growing vegetables. She also enjoyed dancing the Polka, playing cards - especially Canasta, Pinochle - and loved socializing and organizing the Bingo and Domino games at the retirement home where she lived.
Anna is survived by her son, Robert E. Crofcheck and his wife Barbara of Prineville; a sister, Willice Cavany of Anderson, S. C.; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, and one brother.
Arrangements are in the care of the Prineville Funeral Home.
